The rock sculpture of Decebalus is a 42.9 m in height and 31.6 m in width carving in rock of the face of Decebalus, the last king of Dacia, who fought against the Roman emperors Domitian and Trajan to preserve the independence of his country The Statue of Decebalus – Europe’s largest rock sculpture
The Statue of Decebalus was carved in a 10 years period by 12 sculptors, from 1994 – 2004.
4. The Merry Cemetery (Cimitirul Vesel) in Sapanta– a unique burial place, a different touristic attraction

It was designed in 1940 by the local woodcarver Stan Ioan Pătraș, in colorful oak wooden and painted with scenes of the deceased’s life. Each tombstone has a poem depicting the deceased life . Take a look on an example of this humorous yet serious epitaph:

Pop Grigore is my name
My tractor was my joy
Drowned my sorrow in my wine
I lived a troubled life
For my father left me young
Such my fate was
